Guitar Builder Journal

I have been interested in building my own guitar since I was a wee lad.  I have always either been too busy or without the means to do so (and nothing has changed on this front).  I am rather motivated to get started so I will be slowly ramping up from modding an existing guitar to building one from scratch.

My first project is to take a beater strat copy or squire and put both a shine on it as well as add some nice features such as pickups, neck, finish, etc.  The goal here is to start working skills to build upon later on something that isn’t high value.  I will most likely put a couple hundred dollars into the project but the idea is to do potentially destructive activities on low value items, such as refretting a Squier neck vs. a Fender Standard.  Some of the hardware I may be able to reuse on later projects but I am sure my tastes for options will change as these projects progress.

My hope is to post pictures and perhaps videos of what I am doing for each phase.

I hope you find this beneficial.
